I’m Kathy Piper, and I live in Simi Valley, California. I’m married with three children and three grandchildren. When I’m not working, I’m often sketching, reading a book, or watching Fixer Upper.
I am a spiritual director. My directees have been Catholics and Protestants. All are welcome!
I graduated from the Art of Spiritual Direction formation program at Emmaus Spiritual Ministries in Orange, California in June 2015. In September 2015, I became the assistant mentor for the first year students in this program.
Since 2016, I have been the full mentor for the first year students. I am currently working on compiling a directory of the spiritual directors in the Santa Barbara Region of the Los Angeles Archdiocese. I have been involved in the bereavement ministry at St. Peter Claver parish in Simi Valley since 2000.
For 30 years I have been involved in homeschooling. Two of my children were homeschooled from kindergarten through high school. One of my children wanted to attend school, and that was the perfect place for her.
I have worked as an educational coach with hundreds of families who are doing independent study.
At Solimar Academy, we design curriculum to align with each child’s unique learning style. My passion is helping children and adults discover and celebrate their uniqueness and feel confident about their gifts and abilities.
